Hi, I’m Bill Walton. I love my bike, and I love being alive.

These seemingly inseparable aspects of my life are great privileges— privileges that sadly not everybody has—even in the best of times. With privilege comes responsibility, obligation, and duty; especially to our youth – our future.

The Bike for Humanity Team has embarked on four virtual fundraising events in 2020 and 2021 with over 6,500 participants and more than $250,000 raised in donations for deserving charities related to the Coronavirus, food insecurities, children’s organizations, victims of the California and Oregon wildfires, and Free Bike 4 Kidz.

For 2021, Bike for Humanity has partnered with Free Bikes 4 Kidz and their ongoing work to collect unused bicycles, refurbish them and give them to underprivileged children as a pathway to health, happiness and opportunity.

Our next event – Sunday – November 7^th, 2021 – Bike for Humanity Live will be a hybrid event of a live ride at CicloSDias in Pacific Beach / San Diego, CA along with a virtual ride anywhere in the world.

We are Bike for Humanity. Signing up is free; participation is even more free.

All we ask is that you consider making a donation, to help put a child on a bike to experience the freedom and joy that riding a bike provides. For a donation of as little as $25 you can contribute to creating the smile on a child’s face as they receive a bike and new helmet. Additional support levels will put more bikes in the hands of this children-in-need programs.

So, here’s how it’s all going to work: we know the value and power of sports — to bring us together– to heal, and to create a new and better tomorrow.

November 7^th, 2021 will be our ‘Bike for Humanity Live’ Ride, and we invite those who can, to join us at our live event in Pacific Beach, San Diego, to ride, run, walk, or participate virtually with whatever solitary sport you’d like. Bike for Humanity is teaming up with Free Bikes 4 Kidz to tip off the new San Diego Chapter and put a million bikes in the hands of deserving children over the course of the next 5 years. Please join us in achieving this goal.

Please remember that nobody ever makes it to the top alone and that we can’t ever live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to pay us back.
